If the transaction was pre-authorized then the transaction must include the authorization code received from that transaction. With the normal purchase transaction the cardholders account is charged for the given amount. Financial transactions are submitted by calling getAuthorization with the AuthCode from a previous pre-authorized transaction. The authorization code needs to be stored by the merchant and later used to send in the financial transaction. The amount will not be charged to the cardholder until a financial transaction is submitted. If a transaction is pre-authorized, the given amount is reserved from the cardholder’s account.
